Overview

Description: Shredding at Whittlesey Skatepark

Whittlesey Skatepark’s concrete terrain, located in Cambridgeshire, is a favourite among local skaters. Built by Freestyle and opened in 2006, this skatepark has an original layout that allows for a fun and smooth ride.

The park features a variety of transitions and obstacles that challenge and excite skaters of all levels. The four corners of the park each house a double flat bank or a double quarter pipe, which are perpendicular to each other. In between them, skaters can find a funbox with a hubba and a ledge. Additionally, one of the sides of the park features extended quarter pipes, which create a mini ramp perfect for practicing aerial tricks.

Whittlesey Skatepark is ideal for those who are learning the basics of skateboarding. However, more experienced skaters might find this park lacking the challenge of bigger, more complex skateparks. Nonetheless, it is a great place to practice and improve your skateboarding skills in a chill and friendly environment.

The park is free to use and located outdoors, which means you can skate at any time of day. However, be sure to check for the park’s opening and closing times, as they are subject to change.

My Experience

Last week, I went with my best friends to Whittlesey skatepark and we had an absolute blast! Situated in Manor Field and built by Freestyle in 2006, this all-concrete park has some seriously smooth surfaces and some great flowing transitions. The layout is pretty original and features a funbox with hubba and a ledge, as well as a double flat bank and double quarter pipe that face perpendicular to each other. Additionally, one side boasts a concrete mini ramp that’s perfect for practicing your skills.

I have to say, though, that while this park is great for getting started and learning the basics, it lacks the challenge of a more complex park. That said, it’s a really nice local spot and definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area.

One thing that really stood out to me about Whittlesey skatepark was how well-maintained it is. The smooth surfaces make it super easy to ride, and even when it gets busy, there’s plenty of space to maneuver around. Plus, the fact that it’s all-concrete means that it’s built to last and won’t wear down over time.

Overall, I had a fantastic time at this park and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a chill spot to skate. Whether you’re a beginner or just looking for a fun place to hang out with friends, Whittlesey skatepark is definitely worth a visit. So grab your board and head on over – you won’t regret it!
