My Experience

Summertown Skatepark – A Small But Fun Plaza Style Skatepark

Last week, my girlfriend and I visited Summertown Skatepark at Cutteslowe and Sunnymead Park. As a lover of skateboarding, my girlfriend was eager to try out this park, which is primarily a plaza style street course.

The skatepark is small but well-designed. In each of the four corners, there is a hipped bank that faces into the centre of the park. Along the centre, there is a long driveway with a hubba and rail leading up it, and a manny pad leading off it. Running alongside this area, there is a long rail and a two-tiered block.

Overall, Summertown Skatepark is a nice little spot to visit. Although the layout is not the most original, the concrete surface is smooth and grippy, making it a great place to warm up or practice the basics. It’s also a great place to hang out with friends and enjoy the outdoors.

However, if you’re after more challenging spots, this park may not be the best option. There are other skateparks nearby that offer a greater degree of difficulty.

Nevertheless, we both had a great time at Summertown Skatepark. The park is well-maintained and it’s clear that the local community takes pride in it. We would definitely recommend this spot to anyone who enjoys skateboarding or is simply looking for a fun outdoor activity. So, if you’re in the Oxford area and looking for a small but enjoyable skatepark, Summertown Skatepark is definitely worth checking out.
