Last week, me and my best buds decided to hit up St Newlyn East Skatepark, and it did not disappoint! This concrete skatepark was built by Maverick and it’s definitely one of the coolest ones I’ve been to.
First off, the layout is sick. There are so many different sections and obstacles to try out, from stair sets to ramps to rails. And the concrete is super smooth, making it a dream to skate on. Plus, the park is pretty spacious, so there was plenty of room for everyone to do their thing without getting in each other’s way.
Another cool thing about St Newlyn East is that it’s not too crowded. We went on a Saturday afternoon and there were a few other skaters there, but it wasn’t too packed. This meant we could take our time trying out different tricks and not worry about getting in anyone’s way.
The park is also in a really nice location. It’s surrounded by trees and fields, so it feels like you’re really out in nature. And there’s plenty of parking nearby, so it was easy to get to.
One thing to note is that the park can get a bit slippery when it’s wet. We had some rain while we were there and the concrete got pretty slick, so it’s definitely something to be aware of if you’re planning a trip.
Overall, I’d highly recommend St Newlyn East Skatepark to anyone looking for a fun, spacious, and well-designed park to skate in. The layout is sick, the location is beautiful, and it’s not too crowded. Just be careful if it’s wet out! Definitely add this spot to your list of must-skate parks!
