My Experience

Last week I went with my group of friends to Rhymney skatepark and we had a blast! The park is made up of metal ramps on a tarmac base, which gives it a cool urban feel. The back and forth run is something else! It has a quarter pipe and flat bank on one side of a funbox, and it’s perfect for skaters of all levels.

The first thing we noticed when we arrived was the size of the park. It’s not huge, but it’s big enough to have fun and practice some tricks. The ramps are well designed and built, and they feel sturdy and safe. We didn’t have any issues with wobbling or shaking while we were skating, which is always a plus.

Now, let’s talk about the back and forth run. It’s the centerpiece of the park, and for a good reason. The quarter pipe is perfect for launching yourself in the air, and the flat bank is great for practicing grinds and slides. The funbox is also a lot of fun, and we spent most of our time trying to come up with new tricks to do on it. I managed to do a kickflip off the end of it, and it felt amazing!

The park wasn’t too crowded when we went, which was a relief. We had plenty of space to skate around without getting in each other’s way. There were a few other skaters there, but everyone was friendly and respectful. We even made some new friends and exchanged some tips and tricks.
