Overview

Description of Orford Park Skatepark: A Creative Haven for Skaters

Orford Park Skatepark, located in Warrington, was designed and constructed by Wheelscape in 2011. This large all-concrete skatepark boasts both street and transition elements, and is situated within Orford Park itself.

The skatepark is split into two levels, with the upper level wrapping around the lower level and an intermediate section connecting the two. The lower level is open and flat, with bowled edges that surround a pump bump in the middle. This area also features a spine, extensions, and an over vert. The intermediate level, which is situated at the bottom corner of the area, has a hipped bank, a small extension, a hubba, and another flat bank that leads up to the upper deck.

The top level has slightly more obstacles than the lower levels and starts where the middle level finishes. It has a bowled edge around one side with a small extension that leads around to a run with an up and down kicker, rainbow rail, pump bump, and a bricked bowled edge with a love seat inset that curves around the back side.

Despite the removal of the pump bump in the middle of the lower level, Orford Park Skatepark remains a top-class skatepark with a very creative design and super smooth surfaces. The selection of obstacles is wide and well-arranged, allowing for infinite amounts of endless lines that can be easily pumped around all day long without having to push. Whether you are from the area or not, this skatepark should be high on your list of places to visit.

If you’re a skater looking for a cool, chill place to hang out and skate with friends or hone your skills, then Orford Park Skatepark is the perfect spot for you. With its varied obstacles and creative design, it’s no wonder this skatepark is a favorite of skaters from all over.

So what are you waiting for? Grab your board, hop on your bike, or put on your blades and head on over to Orford Park Skatepark. It’s free, it’s outdoors, and it’s waiting for you to come and shred some gnar!

My Experience

Last week, me and a couple of my best buds went to Orford Park Skatepark in Warrington for a day of skating. Let me tell you, this place is rad.

First off, the park is massive and all concrete. It’s split into two levels, with the upper level wrapped around the lower level, which is open and flat with bowled edges that lead up to the upper level. On the upper level, there’s a bowled edge around one side with a small extension that leads around to a run with an up and down kicker, rainbow rail, pump bump and a bricked bowled edge with a love seat inset that curves around the back side.

Orford Park Skatepark has a really creative design and super smooth surfaces. The obstacles are varied and arranged well, making it easy to pump around all day without having to push. There are endless lines to be had here, so you definitely won’t get bored.

One thing to note is that the pump bump in the middle of the lower level appears to have been removed, or maybe it was never put in in the first place despite appearing on the concept design.

Overall, I would highly recommend Orford Park Skatepark to anyone who loves to skate. It’s a top class park that should definitely be on your list of places to visit.
