At each end of the tarmac area, visitors can find quarter-pipe ramps, perfect for gaining speed and catching some air. For those who want to practice their tricks, two quarter-pipe ramps are set in opposite corners, providing a challenge for even the most experienced skaters.

The center of the skatepark boasts a fun box with a rail and small “air” ramp, ideal for skaters who want to hone their skills and work on their technique. The park’s ramps are made from quality concrete, providing a smooth and even surface to skate on.

My Experience

I gotta say, Nicol Park Skatepark was a blast! The concrete modular ramps on a tarmac base made for some smooth skating. I loved that there were quarter-pipe ramps at both ends of the park, as well as two more in opposite corners. But the real highlight for me was the fun box in the middle. It had a rail and a small “air” ramp, which allowed for some super fun tricks.

The park was fairly busy when I went, but everyone was really friendly and respectful. There were a few younger skaters that seemed to be just starting out, but they were staying out of the way and having a good time. And then there were some seriously impressive skaters who were absolutely killing it on the ramps.

One thing that I appreciated about Nicol Park was that it felt really well-maintained. The tarmac was in good condition, and the ramps didn’t have any major cracks or chipping. There were a few scuff marks, of course, but that’s to be expected at any skatepark.
