My Experience

Last week, my best friends and I headed over to Mabe Skatepark, eager to check out what it had to offer. We were excited to try out the concrete course, which boasted a typical arrangement of obstacles that we were familiar with.

The park is made up of a flat bank and a quarter pipe that bookend a driveway, which is lined with a hubba and a ledge that leads to an adjoining manny pad. Additionally, there is a short flat rail situated next to the driveway. Overall, we were pleased with the smooth surfaces and the local feel of the park.

That said, I have to admit that the layout left something to be desired. While it’s a great spot to come and practice the basics, it lacks some of the more original elements that you might find at other skateparks in Cornwall. With that in mind, I wouldn’t recommend it for more challenging skate sessions.

All in all, though, Mabe Skatepark provided us with a fun afternoon of skating and hanging out with friends. And if you’re looking for a casual spot to spend a few hours honing your tricks, this park is definitely worth checking out. Just don’t expect to be blown away by anything too groundbreaking!
