My Experience

Last week my best friends and I headed to Ely skatepark and let me tell you, it was a blast! The park is made up of metal ramps on a tarmac base, which makes it perfect for all types of skateboarders, no matter their skill level.

One thing that really stood out to us was the layout of the park. It’s made up of a back and forth run with a quarter pipe and flat bank either side of a funbox. This design made it easy to flow from one obstacle to the other and allowed us to really hone in on our tricks.

The quarter pipe and flat bank on either side of the funbox were perfect for practicing our transitions and aerial tricks. The funbox itself was a lot of fun to play around on and had a wide range of options for different tricks. We even saw some more experienced skaters doing some insane moves on it!

Another great thing about Ely skatepark is that it’s free to use. This really helped us out as we didn’t have to worry about shelling out money for a session. Plus, it’s open all day, so we could skate as early or as late as we wanted.

One thing to note is that the park can get pretty crowded, especially on weekends. However, we didn’t let that deter us and we still had a great time. We just had to be patient and wait our turn for some obstacles.
