My Experience

Last week, I went to Christchurch Meadow skatepark and I gotta say, it was a pretty sick spot. The skatepark is set up in a back and forth layout and is made up of metal ramps on a tarmac base – it’s definitely built to last! One of my favourite things about the park is that either side has a quarter pipe, which is great for practising my transitions. Inbetween the quarter pipes are some rad features, like spines, volcanoes, jump boxes, a driveway, hubba and ledge. It’s like they’ve thought of everything!

I spent most of my time on the spines – they’re perfect for getting some air. The jump boxes are also a lot of fun and great for practising tricks. The hubba and ledge are a bit more challenging, but that just means there’s room to improve, right?

The atmosphere at the skatepark was really chill. There were a few groups of skaters and BMXers, but there was plenty of space for everyone to do their thing. I liked that there were a mix of ages too – everyone from kids to adults were shredding it up. It was great to see such a diverse community coming together to enjoy the skatepark.

One thing to note is that the skatepark can get pretty busy, especially on weekends. But hey, that just means there’s more people to watch and learn from, right? Overall, I had a blast at Christchurch Meadow skatepark and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and challenging spot to skate. Definitely check it out if you’re in the area!
