My Experience

Birtley Skatepark: A Fun and Challenging Spot for Skaters of All Levels

Last week, my friends and I decided to check out Birtley Skatepark in Birtley Welfare Park. We were not disappointed with what we found. The skatepark is a concrete park that features an open bowl and a back-and-forth plaza, making it a great spot for skaters of all levels.

One of the things that we appreciated about Birtley Skatepark is the variety of obstacles it offers. Whether you’re into skating pools or grinding rails, there’s something for everyone. We particularly enjoyed the open bowl, which provided us with some serious airtime. The back-and-forth plaza was also a lot of fun, and we spent a lot of time trying to nail some tricks on the various ledges and rails.

The design of the park is also worth mentioning. Built by Canvas and opening in August 2016, it’s clear that the designers put a lot of thought into making the park both challenging and fun. The transitions are smooth, and the layout flows well, making it easy to link tricks together.
