Amersham Skatepark: Review & Tips – Skateboarding in Buckinghamshire, U.K

Hey, what’s up, fellow skaters! Today, I wanted to give you all a rundown of one of my favorite spots to shred – the Amersham Skatepark. I’ve been hitting this place up for a while now, and I’ve gotta say, it’s one of the most fun and versatile parks around. So, in this post, I’m going to give you an overview of what you can expect from this sick spot and share some of my personal experiences tearing it up there. Let’s get into it!

Overview

Description and Skatepark: Skate in Style at Amersham Skatepark

Amersham Skatepark, situated in King George’s Field, has recently undergone a transformation with an upgrade to a state-of-the-art concrete plaza course. The park boasts two levels, with the higher level leading down to the lower level via a set of stairs equipped with a rail and a pair of hubbas on either side. The lower level includes a hip, a pair of ledges, a rail, and a manual pad. Following these obstacles, there is a half-width spine and a quarter-pipe ramp to take you back up the other end.

This skatepark’s layout offers ample opportunities for skaters to choose their preferred lines and unleash their creativity. The new upgrade has made Amersham Skatepark a top-notch destination for skaters of all levels.

The old skatepark was a medium-sized facility composed of composite ramps set on a tarmac grounding. The ramps were arranged in a back-and-forth layout, including a mini ramp on one side and flatbanks and quarter-pipes on either side. A driveway with rail, jump boxes, spines, and a quarter-pipe ramp completed the layout. However, the recent upgrade to a concrete plaza course has elevated the skatepark to a new level, providing a more challenging and versatile skating experience.

My Experience

Last week, I went to Amersham Skatepark with my best buds and it was a blast! We were blown away by how the skatepark had been upgraded to a cutting-edge concrete plaza course in 2020. It was a huge improvement from the medium-sized skatepark that was previously there.

The skatepark is located within King George’s Field and has two distinct levels. The higher level leads down to the lower level via a set of stairs with rail and a pair of hubbas either side. The lower level is where we spent most of our time, and it was awesome! There’s a hip, pair of ledges, rail and a manual pad. Following on from these obstacles is a half-width spine and a quarter-pipe ramp to get you moving back up the other end. We loved how there were plenty of lines to choose from, and we spent hours trying out different tricks and combos.

The skatepark’s layout is back and forth based, and it features a mini ramp to one side. The main body has flatbanks and quarter pipes on either side housing jump boxes, spines and a driveway with rail. We appreciated the variety of obstacles available, and we all managed to learn some new tricks while we were there.
